Colleen Davis took another fight in enemy territory against another tough opponent. Davis, a Millvale resident, ended up on the wrong side of the scorecards during the Riverhead Fight Series at The Suffolk in Riverhead, N.Y.

Davis lost a unanimous decision 77-75, 78-74 (x2) to Chiara Dituri, who is from Brooklyn. It was the first time in Davis' career that she fought eight rounds. Jose Caraballo, who trains Davis out of the Ray Schaefer Boxing Association in Sharpsburg, wasn't happy with the decision. It was the second fight in a row where Caraballo felt Davis was the more active fighter and wasn't rewarded for it.

"Only in New York can you get back up the entire time ... lose almost every round, start crying because u think u lost, get warned til points are about to be taken and still win," Caraballo wrote on an Instagram posted. "#robbed watch the fight. ... #baddecisions."

​Davis fell to 4-4-1 in her career. Dituri improved to 12-2 and has five wins via knockout.

SHARPSBURG -- Colleen "Chaos" Davis will get the call to fight and happily agree. The Millvale-based boxer doesn't need to call a team and sequester away for four weeks to get ready.

Davis is always toiling away in the gym at the Ray Schafer Boxing Association in Sharpsburg. Davis recently accepted her third fight of the year: an eight-round fight with Chiara Dituri Aug. 23 at the Suffolk Theatre in Riverhead, N.Y.

"For me, this is easy," Davis said. "It is a lifestyle I live. We have a life-long camp. I don't need to start a training camp for a fight and have to hurry up and get ready. I'm ready. I've been called on five days' notice for a title fight and won."

Davis (4-3-1, 1 KO) is the ABF InterContinental Super Featherweight champion. She won that belt in 2023 when Davis defeated Brazilian fighter Tayanna Cardoso by decision in Norcross, Ga. Most recently, Davis impressed in a fight with undefeated Elise Soto during the open workouts in the leadup to the Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor fight in July.

The fight was contested with four three-minute rounds instead of the traditional two-minute rounds for women's professional fights. Davis poured on heavily volume as Soto waded forward attempting to land power shots. It was a hotly-contested fight, with Soto winning a split decision.

It was a rematch of a fight that Davis and Soto originally had May. The first bout was halted in the second round after an accidental clash of heads opened up a nasty cut above Davis' eye that forced the referee call the fight.

Davis and her coach, Jose Caraballo, both believed she won. Soto was known for being a hard hitter, seven of her eight wins have come via KO, but her power didn't bother Davis.

"I knew there was no way she was going to knock me out," Davis said. "There's no way. I'm not that fighter. I was over prepared for her, and I knew I had the skill and the heart to outlast any hard punches. Getting hit is part of the game and I have a great chin."

Dituri, who fights out of Brooklyn, will be another tough challenge for Davis. Dituri has collected five knockouts during her career, but she hasn't fought since last November. Davis already plans to fight again in September and would like to take a fifth bout in December.

"I'm just always ready to go," Davis said. "This busy lifestyle kind of suits me to keep taking fights. I want to keep racking up the money and the fights. I'm a prize fighter and that's what I'm here for. I'm here to make money, entertain and win fights."

Jose Caraballo, who trains boxer at the Ray Schaefer Boxing Club in Sharpsburg, believes Colleen Davis could have handed undefeated fighter Elise Soto her first professional loss in May. However, the fight was stopped in the second round after the fight was stopped due to a bad cut.

Davis  (4-2-1) will get another opportunity to fight July 8 at Oculus in New York City. The fight will be during the weigh in for Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, which will take place July 11th. Aquinas Academy graduate Mary Casamassa (6-0) will be on the undercard of the Taylor-Serrano  fight.

Davis' fight will be contested under men's rules with four three-minute rounds at 130 pounds. Davis is a Shaler graduate. Casamassa will take on 28-year-old undefeated fighter Tammara Thibeault. Casamassa's fight will take place at 160 pounds.
