Penn Hills graduate Julian Dugger stands out at quarterback during Washington State football camp

Julian Dugger flashed what he could do during an appearance in the GameAbove Bowl with Pitt last season. The former Penn Hills standout quarterback showed enough that he drew plenty of interest from other schools in the transfer portal. Dugger chose to head to Washington State, which is getting ready for life in a revamped PAC-10 conference.

During a practice Monday, the Cougars' social media team posted Dugger going on a long run to the end zone. Dugger made a memorable introduction to his college career. He didn't appear in any of Pitt's first 12 games last season. He was forced into action after Pitt had a few quarterbacks depart following the regular season.

When walk-on David Lynch was ineffective in the first half against Toledo, Dugger came in to help Pitt erase an 8-point halftime deficit and force overtime. While the Rockets won 48-46 in six overtimes, Dugger made his presence felt. Dugger threw two touchdown passes and an interception.

Dugger also ran for 88 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. Dugger is hoping to help the Cougars find success in the revamped PAC-12.
