Seneca Valley graduate Nick Hemer will attempting to help Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College win the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I title Dec. 18 in Canyon, Texas. The Blue Dragons are 10-1 this season and will play Iowa Western Community College for the championship.
The Blue Dragons beat Iowa Western 38-37 to open the season. Hemer, who is committed to play at the University of Texas San Antonio next season, beat Georgia Military College Dec. 8 to reach the final. Hutchinson is seeking its second national championship.
The Blue Dragons won their first national championship in 2021 when they beat Snow College 29-27 in the championship game.
